The Davidson Plum (Davidsonia Jersyana) is an unusual Australian native that grows in the Rainforest areas of NSW and QLD.
Used in cooking jams and sauces it is a great compliment to dairy products such as yoghurts and ice-creams. The fruit can be used in cakes, savory cookies, relishes or to blend with other fruit such as Rhubarb, Quince and Quandongs. The plum sauce can be used as an accompaniment to rich meats such as Venison or Kangaroo.
Known to be high in antioxidants (more than Blueberries) the Davidson Plum has many health benefits. The plum is an excellent source of potassium, Vitamin E, lutein, zinc, folate, calcium and magnesium.
